In the wake of the recent land fiasco in Cebu, the Consumers Union of the Philippines (CUP) warned land buyers and investors to protect themselves against flawed titles by at least verifying the location of the titled land being sold.

At the request of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), CREBALAND’s mapping specialists conducted a 5-day training on the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) in land valuation and taxation for 20 personnel from the BIR’s Regional District Offices (RDOs), Regional Data Centers (RDC) and Asset Valuation Division.
